What We Think

Fun factor:
Durability:
Ease of assembly:
Educational factor:
Novelty factor:

The Good: Mini projector makes it easy for kids to create their own home theater.

The Challenging: Low-resolution images necessitate a viewing environment that is totally dark.

In a Nutshell: Kids will love projecting movies and video games outdoors and on bedroom ceilings!

This kid-friendly projector projects movies, video games and more.

The projector is lightweight and compact, so you can even project on the ceiling.

The EyeClops expands video games to larger-than-life sizes.

If You Can Plug It In, You Can Project It
The Eyeclops puts big-screen projection capability in the palm of your hand. It's easy to create your own home theater -- just connect your favorite media player or game console to the Eyeclops' audio-video inputs (connector cables not included), turn on the power, and aim the projector at a wall or ceiling. With built-in speakers and a projected screen size of up to 60 inches, your favorite movies and video games will take on a whole new look and sound!

The Eyeclops works with DVD players, video game consoles, handheld devices, and more! The projector's simple, kid-friendly features include a pivoting arm for adjusting the projection angle, a volume control, and a focal adjustment. Unlike other larger projectors, the Eyeclops doesn't get hot, so it's safe for kids to handle.

Projector Fits in the Palm of Your Hand
Going on a road trip? The projector unit weighs less than a pound and measures a compact 2 x 3.5 x 2.5 inches (H x W x D), so kids can easily take it along for all kinds of adventures. The projection stand features a convenient belt clip in addition to a portable battery pack that provides approximately 270 minutes of projection time -- more than enough for an outdoor screening!

The Darker the Room, the Clearer the Image
Whether you're projecting a film on the ceiling of your bedroom or a video game inside of your tent, the key to a clear image is a dark environment. Kids will find that even a little daylight makes the screen dim and blurry. For best results, the projector should be positioned within several feet of the projection surface, and all light sources should be covered.

Because the Eyeclops' on-board speakers may not provide the same quality of audio that your home speakers do, the projector features a mini-jack audio output that allows you to connect it to headphones or external speakers. Additionally, while standard RCA cables (not included) are sufficient to connect most devices to the Eyeclops, certain media players and handheld devices may require special connector cables that can be purchased separately.

What's in the Box
Eyeclops Mini Projector, projection stand/battery pack, swivel arm, A/C adaptor, instruction manual.

Great Toy Projector

Review Date: October 2, 2009

I want to emphasize that this is a great Toy. This is not a high dollar piece of equipment but for what it's worth it works great. I have used it to entertain my grandchildren when they come over for holidays. They are always fighting for space to watch tv or play games so this really helps. I just plug in the dvd player with whatever movie they want to watch and let them enjoy themselves. They really like the novelty of the item. They feel like they are at the movies or a drive in if we do it outside. I am actually very excited to use this at Halloween time to project some scary images/movie on my house for the trick or treaters. This item is definitely works best in complete darkness and could have a higher resolution, but again for the price and the fact that it is a toy, this is an excellant product.
Great inexpensive projector with nice features....

I'm an adult and think this is a great product, especially for the price. I got my first one from Amazon right before Xmas for $29.98 shipped. I just ordered another one from drugstore dot com for $34.98 shipped. The unit will not power on if you don't have a live feed going through it - so for those of you who got it and think it's broken, you're wrong. You need to turn on the device you want to project first then turn on the projector and it will work fine - this is smart - saves the lcds for longer life. If you don't like the sound you have the option to hook up speakers to it through the headphone jack. The focus wheel does work - you just need to move it very slowly - once you get the focus to where you like it, leave it alone. Of course if you move the projector or make the image bigger or smaller, you'll need to focus again. You can project it on the wall, but the texture/color on the wall won't give you the best picture - you can do one of 2 things I tried that work great - goto Michaels with your 40% off coupon and get a white glue board (about $1.50) and use that as your screen - better yet, get a 24 x 36 poster frame - take out the plastic shield and reverse the paper inside that comes with it so it's on the white side and then put the frame back on - voila - you now have a white screen you can hang on the wall anywhere for very cheap price. I've done both and it really helps give the picture/projector justice.
You need to realize that this is NOT a professional projector, however,...it's lcd (no bulb to replace ever, and you'll get plenty of life out of it), very portable, excellent value, and if you get creative about how to make the picture look more clear/visible you'll be very happy with it. This projector isn't just for kids - there are many uses for it (holiday image projections, effects, project dvd movie on back seat of car, etc...). I don't work for Jakks Pacific, but I do like that they put a cool little device like this on the market for a reasonable price. Oh,....I watch tv on my ceiling every night - the picture is clear - the room just needs to be completely dark. For those of you who whine about it, you're just not setting it up right or you expect dlp resolution from it which isn't realistic for what you paid!
Happy New Year! ;-)
Family viewing fun

This TOY is really great. We ordered it as a family gift to enjoy watching Christmas movies as a family. The kids love it. My 7 year old says "this is the best ever!" Video quality is low, but plenty good for viewing on our popcorn ceiling. Volume is fine. I would recommend purchasing some longer AV cords to go with it and don't forget the D batteries for portability. Get out your sleeping bags and settle in for a drive in experience.
Excellent toy.

Reviewer: R. Key,
I purchased this as a family gift for Christmas and we opened it a few days early. We have been using it for the past few nights to watch dvds. I had read the bad reviews and was a little worried about this product before we opened it, but if I had known what a great value it actually is, I would have purchased a couple more at the low price I paid.

We project the dvds on to our textured walls and the picture is great. You do need to have it dark. The picture isn't great unless the room is pretty dark.

We have been projecting dvds onto our ceiling for the last couple of nights. We have a popcorn ceiling, but the picture is still pretty good.

This is a great product for family time on a budget. Pop some popcorn, throw some blankets and pillows on the floor, and watch a movie on your ceiling.

We can't wait for summer so we can try it outdoors while camping.

I may buy more of these... perhaps one for each of the kids' rooms.
Great for the price

After reading a few other reviews, I almost didn't buy the product. But after watching Spongebob on the ceiling of my son's room, I was surprised and pleased. In the other reviews, I guess people expect a HD type of picture. It's not going to be close. Is this picture viewable and sound loud enough? Yes.... I would recommend this product!!
